Derek Tait’s Family
Thomas Noble, the grocer, was born in 1874 and he married Elizabeth Stephenson, also born in 1874. They married on the 4th August 1894 and had 10 children: John Richard (known as Richard or Dick), William Anthony (killed in the first World War), Hannah, Thomas (died aged 2), Annie (also dies at 2), Margaret (known as Meggie or Peg), Elizabeth (known as Bette, born 1911), Mary Annie (known as Nan), Thomas (apparently there were two children called Thomas!) and Robert (known as Bob but also as Rock in his early years). Collin Orr used to live at the same house as Bob Noble and would see him in army uniform coming down the street. Bob lived with his family at 54 or 45 The Crescent in Silksworth and Colin at number 19 with his parents and brother.
